Angels of Honor

Rick Cryder, the founder of Angels of Love, travels to the Orange County jail system 2 – 3 days a week and teaches a class of non-violent inmate volunteers to make stained glass art for FREE. The Non violent detainees from the jail or from a local juvenile facility enthusiastically make the Angels that bring hope and inspiration to the community. They look forward to seeing Rick on a regular basic.

Over the years, Rick has donated thousands of Angels to families who have experienced tragedies in their lives. This has included families of the military killed in Iraq and Afghanistan, the VA “Tech Tragedy, 9/11 terrorist attacks, Columbine and other school shootings, Oklahoma City bombing, and other world events. He has made angels for the family of each fallen law enforcement officer and fire fighter in the State of California, along with many others in our nation. He has given angels to the families of every law officer in Orange County who was killed in the line of duty since 1912.

Rick also donates many angels to the families of children at Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) and St. Joseph Hospital of Orange among others. He is also known for his Christmas tradition, where He goes to many local hospitals to give out angels to the patients who are in the hospital and not able to go home for the holiday.

Rick spends every waking hour making angels or distributing them in person or by mail to brighten someone else’s day.

This entire organization is run without pay. They do not take any of the donations for themselves. The donations they do receive go strictly for supplies to make and distribute the angels. Funding for the Angels of Love comes from private and corporate donations. NO money is used to promote any religion or church.
